Tuğçe successfully completed her written and oral comprehensive exams and is off to fieldwork in Türkiye this summer. Sarieh completed her second semester review and received full funding to attend the IsoCamp short course in New Mexico in June. Atticus defended his master's thesis proposal in Geography and is now working on his data collection this summer. His project on isotopes in alligator tooth enamel is funded by a competitive NSF graduate research fellowship. Matt is writing up his master's thesis. Richard is a transfer student majoring in Anthropology and Geography. He started working with Dr. Pilaar Birch this semester as a CURO fellow, presented at the annual symposium, won the Atlas Award in Geography, and will continue his project on passenger pigeons for the next few months through a competitive CURO summer fellowship. Annabelle joined the lab group as a "Double Dawg" master's program in Anthropology, which she will officially start next fall. Yeongseo was awarded the prestigious Knight-Hennessy Scholarship for her PhD at Stanford and was also offered a NSF graduate research fellowship at the same time - 1 of only 1,000 awarded this year.
